FAQ

We are a group of volunteers with a desire to see change in politics resulting in better representation of our community. We love living in Moore and our goal is to strengthen democracy across our community. We plan to do this by consulting the community, through conversations and surveys.

Our values:

  • Strengthen our democracy
  • Build and promote community and community interests
  • Strive for equity, a "fair go" for all
  • Act with integrity, honesty and respect
  • Be solution focused and evidence-based

We want our representation to:

  • involve bottom-up, grass roots engagement, to inform top-down governance
  • represent our place and our community and not just a party view
  • look beyond the 3 year election cycle and accept that we have obligations to future generations
  • role model mature debate, rather than political point scoring

If these values resonate with you, we would love to hear from you! Please complete our volunteer form.

Kitchen table conversations (KTCs) are get-togethers - usually in people's kitchens - where everyone gets to share their opinion about the good things about living in Moore, about issues and solutions, and about the way we are represented.

The conversations are hosted and facilitated by local volunteers. They are designed as an information gathering process to find out what the people in Moore care about. The information gathered in these sessions will be compiled anonymously and published in a report that will be shared publicly.

KTCs are an important part of our process of understanding what is important to the people of Moore, and we are hoping to hold lots of KTCs over the coming months across the electorate.

KTCs generally involve groups of up to 10 people, so if you have a group of friends, family, neighbours etc who you would like to get together for a KTC, please fill in our volunteer form and we will be in touch. We will support you with information on how to run a KTC.

If you would like to attend a KTC, let us know on our volunteer form and we will let you know if one is be held nearby that you can attend.

If you would like to get involved with Voices of Moore, we'd love to hear from you!
